my dalesandros ordeal...

this is one side of the story but i'll try and be as fair as possible...

dalesandros...
a table of 7 (30-40 yo professionals)...
seated at 6:30 (for a confirmed 6:30 reservation)...

very slow waitress, apparently very new... drinks, appetizer and salad come over the next 45 minutes...
at 7:30 the table asks to order their entree's...
the daily board shows "stuffed shells- ready at 8 pm"...

three at the table (including the 40 yo with the birthday) ask if it is ok to order the shells since it is now past 7:30, the waitress responds "no problem"...

10 minutes go buy and the waitress then informs them that "we only have four orders of shells"... the table says "well we only ordered three so that will work"...

5 minutes later the bar manager comes up to let them know that "the shells are burned"...
the three express their regret and get menus to place a different order... then the bar manager fumbles the lie and lets slip that there "are some shells but they're already spoken for"...

now the patrons ask for the manager/owner because of the prolonged wait and the confusion about the shells...

buzz dalesandro walks up to the table and says "WHAT? Who wants to talk to me?" in an overly aggressive tone...

the birthday girl explains that they ordered were told initially they could have shells and now they have been lied to "what gives?"...

he starts on a rant "you are wrong... the board is wrong, you can't have shells... only people who come at 8 get shells... you were supposed to be here at 6 (again, the reservations were confirmed for 6:30)... people at 6 get chicken cacciatore... anyway, you were late because of the fireworks and riverside being closed (huh?)... i have people waiting on this table... you are supposed to be finished..."

the birthday girl says "this is ridiculous... how can you call this service... why did'nt you just tell the truth?" and pounds her fist on the table...

buzz says "get the hell out of my restaurant..." and threatens "your about to get on my bad side and you won't like that..."

so they leave...

buzz, old boy, i've eaten in your ****-hole for the last time... after, aproximately 10 dinners and two catered meals- i've had enough... your service sucks... tucci's and palace have always been a superior experience for both food and service...

you are not fit for "front of house"... you should never come out of the kitchen... sonny would have done a far better job handling that situation... you should never talk to customers/patrons/clients that way...

you probably need counseling...

all you had to do was say "i am sorry. they should have told you that you could not order the shells." and it would have been done...

that is some seriously ****ed up karma, usually people who treat people that way wind up getting screwed...

holy ****.  i wouldnt expect a two bit manager at mcdonalds to act that way, let alone the owner at an upscale establishment.  thanks for the review.

Wow, never been there. Probably not going either.

Riverside was closed due to the maraton I think. Plus, the 21st bridge was closed for a time as well as festivals on both sides of the river.

AVERAGE JOE

Buzz is one of the most rude, miserable, pompous, nasty sumbiches you will ever meet. I detest that a$$hole. He and his restaurant can rot for all I care. If I was starving to death and his dump was the only place open in town, I'd walk past it and eat mud instead.

(can you tell my wife and I have had similar bad experiences in there?)

Don't go there unless you enjoy being yelled at by a fat slob greaseball while paying $18 for freakin' pasta.

brunoflipper

are you ****ing kdding me? how could we have not figured this ut already?

good to know it was not a unique experience... **** him and feed him beans... i hope dies a slow death from end-stage organ failure...

That's Buzz for ya...Should have known that before going there....I been  there once when he was downtown....Had a group of about 30 all it all went well...But I have seen him be jackass on many occasions outside of his restraunt....

I've known Buzz for a while, since he had his restaurant in Skiatook before moving it to Tulsa.  Every time I ate there, he was very friendly and polite, and the service was great.  Heck, he was even a substitute teacher at Skiatook High School for a while.  I'm not saying that he's innocent, but all the circumstances have to be taken into account.  Even with that, you NEVER treat customers the way it was described above.  Period.

brunoflipper

i guess buzz had the nerve to call and ask the guy about paying for the bill for the apps/drinks...

this, mind you, is the guy whose wife's 40th birthday was ruined... needless to say, he declined to pay for it...

Thanks for the heads up. I can take that place off my list of places to have client parties.

I like to use Polo Grill. It is not cheap, but the service and food is well worth going with the best.

I've known Buzz for at least 15 years and I've seen the good and bad side of him.  He can be very kind and generous, but when he gets pissed off it's frightening and he seems to lose his common sense.

I took my wife to his new location a while back and have not returned.  I thought the food was very average compared to what it used to be when he was down on Main Mall.  IOW- I've had better Italian meals and paid less elsewhere.

The last two times I was there, the service was bad.  I won't be going back.

Love the food!  Always get good service.  But then again, I'm not difficult.  I've found that I will love anything the Buzz puts  in front of me, so I just ask him to order for me.  Always outstanding.

I've seen Buzz get angry, and yes he has a temper.  But then again, I have a temper too don't get in front of me at Starbucks if you are going to order a half skim, half soy, mocachino latte on ice  with extra foam and sprinkles.

Buzz is a lion, so don't poke him with sticks.  Just enjoy him and his art, for what it is.  His personality is part of the package.

I wasn't treated badly by him, but I was ignored by the wait staff.  I expect a certain level of service for the prices charged.  If I want to enjoy a lion, then I'll go to the zoo.

I've been there many times.  The last couple of times were not pleasant dining experiences.  I'd rather take my business somewhere else where the staff has a clue.

Well screw him and his restaurant. Not ever going there again.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

I go out from time to time and try new restaurants, looks like this one will not be on the list for a future experience, unless I just feel like getting into a fight.
