We are thinking about moving to Tulsa from Ca. we were there in Sep. and spent 2 weeks there looking around at property [:D]Look at BA, Claremore, Coweta , Sapulpa, Jenks .We are not real sure where we want to buy . We live in the country now. And love it . We really liked Jenks . I like rolling hills best . I was amazed at how green Tulsa is . We had never been there it was very Green [:P]Anything you can tell me about Tulsa area would be great . We loved what we did see there .Hubby is wanting to retire at 59 so we would be able to sale here and buy there . Just want to know all I can about it from those who live there [:D]Thanks  Honeybee~~~~~~~~~~[:)]

If your looking for those rolling hills and a place in the country to live the Sand Springs/Sapulpa area has a lot to offer. The Skiatook area is also like this and they even have a big lake! [:)]

Move to northwest Arkansas.  That's where the rest of CA is moving to.  They have a lot more illegals there so it feels more like California that OK does.

There are plenty of people like yourself who have moved to Tulsa from Cali.  Many are clients that I have worked for who, like yourself, sold their home there and moved "up" here or have retired.  You will be in good company. [:)]

If your retired without children pay attention to what school district your moving into so you don't get saddled with extremely high property taxes.....i.e Jenks..

Are California's not welcome there in OK. I thought everyone I met was very nice [:D]as far as the illegals that's something will won't miss[:D]

Yes we were told by Realtor that taxes are much higher in Jenks area . We don't care about that we pay high taxes here in Ca. and we plan on paying cash out there so we don't mind if taxes are alittle more [:D]I have friends that just moved there to BA in Wagnor County and there taxes are not bad there .I would consider BA wagnor County if we can find something we really love . [:D]Thanks though for telling me about taxes there can you tell me anything else ?Like how long have you lived there what do you love and hate about it?

I didn't realize there was a Eureka Springs, Alaska.

If you are moving from California, it means we have a chance you are a liberal (they don't call it the left coast for nothing).

On behalf of the minority in Oklahoma, let me just say...hurry and bring friends.
Power is nothing till you use it.

I think the friends are already here.  just check a random construction site.

Are you saying that liberals build things and conservatives tear them down?
Power is nothing till you use it.

Cubs

Actually a lot of the Californians moving to the Midwest are not liberal. They are leaving because they are tired of the liberals in California. I'm not saying that is the case with Honeybee, but it is with many.
Another thing you have to realize is that 45% of Californians voted for Bush in the 2004 election. So yes, there are plenty of right-wingers in that state too.

I remember reading the second article about property taxes just the other day, and how odd it was that people here often mention how high they are but in reality they are very low.
