I want to get back into home-brewing.  I made a couple of batches back around '98 or so with a kit I got from Mecca.

If you find me an old freezer unit for $100 or so, you can come over and brew 5 gallons at a time.  I have 3 fermentation tanks/buckets, 4 taps, 3 fillable kegs, bottles, capper and about everything you may need.  I even have a notebook of what has worked well and what has not.

Until I have that unit back up and running, its too much of a pain to bottle the beer and carbonate it the old fashion way.  I force carbonate to get clearer beer faster.  Plus no exploding bottles.  I want my beer and I want it, now.

Marshall Brewing - Tulsa

Marshall Brewing Company is Tulsa Oklahoma's 1st Production Craft Microbrewery. Production will begin in early fall 2007. Marshall Brewing Company is headed by Brewmaster Eric Marshall. Eric is a fourth generation Tulsan, with a degree in International Business and German language from the University of Tulsa. He apprenticed in multiple craft breweries throughout Germany and served as a brewer at the Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. In December 2006 Eric decided to bring his talent back to Tulsa and begin working on getting Marshall Brewing Company off the ground. Marshall Brewing Company's goal is to bring the art, quality, and enjoyment of craft brewing to Oklahoma. Marshall Brewing Company will focus on the production of quality craft brewed Ales & Lagers. Please check back frequently for more information.

We got the first piece of the equipment we were waiting on for our end of this project yesterday, still waiting on a couple more pieces which should be here next week.  I think Eric's still hoping to get brewing by the end of Oct. but that might be pushing it- depends on how fast all the contracters can work.  I'm anxious to see it up and running.  He's been a great guy to work with.

I hope they set up a little tasting room, or even better yet, a small hole in the wall bar that serves nothing but their beer.  Not some preppy Brick Town Brewery thing, just all about the beer.

With comfortable chairs or better yet, couches that make up different seating areas.  It would be simply awesome.

Forget BOK, River development, east end, etc...--THIS is the best development news for Tulsa.  Seriously.  No city can claim to have made it unless they have at least one locally produced beer.

Is this Marshall as in pies?

"Marshall Brewing Co. selects Cubic as AOR

"He was a wise man who invented beer." – Plato

Cubic is pleased to announce that they have been selected as the Agency of Record for Marshall Brewing Company. The upstart brewer is bringing real world experience and a passion for fine crafted specialty beers to Tulsa and the surrounding region. Unlike local brew pubs in the region, the Marshall Brewing Co. will function as a standalone brewing facility not a combination brew pub and restaurant. Marshall gets its name from the founding family and the operation will be helmed by professional brewmeister, Eric Marshall.

Eric got his first taste of quality beer, quite literally, when he began home brewing here in Tulsa. Eric quickly developed a passion for not only the taste and quality of fine crafted beers, but for the entire process. Eric knew he wanted to train with the best and he did just that as part of a special brewing program in Germany. It was during this time that Eric began to fully appreciate the intricate art of the brewmeister. He was hooked. Eric returned several years later and continued to refine his brewing skills and business sense with several stateside operations. Eventually, Eric decided the time was right and we are pleased to announce that Tulsa will soon have a fine crafted line of beers they will be proud to call their very own."
