I just wish someone in this town would import Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Does anyone know what the law allows for microbreweries in Oklahoma?  Can they allow tastings?  Can they bottle & sell at liquor stores as well as restaurants (I have heard they can't)?  Even more than allowing the sale of wine & beer in grocery stores, I would like to see our alcohol laws relaxed so that small breweries & brew pubs have a better chance of survival.  I believe every other state has recognized the commericial viability of locally brewed beers--even Utah (anyone tried Polygamy Porter??  "Why just have one!")

pmcalk, everyone knows that Jesus hates beer and other alcohol.  Its evil.  Sale of it on Sundays is evil.  Its consumption in public is evil.  Getting too drunk and deciding to walk home instead of driving is evil.  Real beer is evil.  Selling rum and coke in same transaction is evil.   Alcohol at a grocery store, you better believe thats evil.  By extension, places that make beer must be evil - especially on Sunday.

Jesus said so.

Actually I don't think Jeebus said so.  I believe it was pastors and priests who were worried their potential tithes were being spent on alcohol.

got some the other night... a great IPA, well not true- actually it was an outfreakingstanding IPA...

very nice guys... and they are going all in... they know beer and they've got the business model pretty well nailed down... look for co-branded beer at elliot's joints by the first of the year... but kilkennys will have marshall beer as well... then they'll start bottling growlers... and small bottles in the spring... way too cool...

looks like we'll be drinking our local brews by this spring... besides my own personal consumption, for events/gatherings we typically order 8-10 kegs a year and i can't wait for all of those to be local brews...

the best damn thing to happen around here in a long, long time...

You personally buy 8 to 10 kegs a year?

Does everybody wears tin foil hats at your parties?

I would wear one for a good local brew...

This is great news...

I need to get invites to Bruno's parties.

And yes, great news.  I was hopeful they would be able to hock their wares at Oktoberfest, but alas...  anyone know if Choctoberfest will be sold this year?  OKBTOBERFEST!  Wohoo!

Beer in Tulsa.  Yay!

"first draft" press club, downtown- sort of a mini-wildbrew...

I went to one of Bruno's parties once.

Still got the lampshade hat to prove it.

I had a Choctoberfest this weekend.

cannon_fodder

Guess I wasnt clear, I was wondering if they will be selling it at Oktoberfest.

Choc is yummy.  I have adopted it as my home town beer, until it is offset by a better more home town beer.

Last I talked to him, no they won't be selling at Oktoberfest.  They still don't have all the equipment in place.

With a username like mine I feel an obligation to ask if anyone has an update on this micro-brewery and when its beer is going to be available.

Conan71

It's getting very, very close.  Hopefully brewing will start w/in a couple of weeks. I think all we are waiting on for our contribution to the project is water and a final inspection by the city and state.  Looked like the electricians and plumbers were close to finished when I was in there two weeks ago.

Eric has had a lot of un-expected issues which have come up w/ the building and city codes.  Fortunately he's had the money to cover it.

Actually, Wilbur, you can brew strong beer in Oklahoma that is sold in liquor stores. There is a brewery in Oklahoma City that has been operating since 2004, brewing Huebert's Old Tyme Lager. An amendment to Oklahoma's liquor laws passed in 2003 making it possible to open a brewery to brew strong beer.

Please, God... let him find a way to brew better than 3.2 beer. Please please PLEEAAAAAASSSEEEEE. I will buy tanker trucks full of local microbrew if it isn't 3.2.

I used to buy Huebert's from Brown's liquor in Stillwater. It was sour as heck and kinda weird, but it really grows on you somehow. I wish you could buy it in Tulsa somewhere and I wish this brewery much luck!
