I used them a couple of weeks ago to fly to LA.

I can't say enough good about them. My direct flight to the Ontario airport from Tulsa cost $226 for a round trip ticket.

They use to be Delta Express and broke away to from their own company. The planes they use are Embraer 145's. Unlike most regional jets, I had plenty of head room and the planes were very comfortable.

Great way to travel at a low price, plus you don't have to fly into the major airports.

AA Connections use the same planes, which I like.

I don't guess they are a part of travelocity or expedia.  They didn't even register on cheaptickets when I was trying to find some flights a month or so back.

I have a wonderful idea: let's mortgage some taxpayer-owned property and give them a blank check to make ExpressJet's stay in Tulsa much better!

Actually, it was Continental Express, and they used to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Continental Airlines. They still fly for Continental Express in addition to their Express Jet operations.  And rather than "break away" from Continental, it was more like Continental pushed them out of the nest.  First they spun them off as an independent company and then Continental declined to renew their contract with regard to something like 60 aircraft, so ExpressJet had to find a different use for those aircraft.  This concludes your history lesson  ;-)

They offer great service.  I've used them to fly to Austin, and will be flying them again tomorrow, as well.  Unfortunately, my flight is never more than 1/4 full, which doesn't bode too well for their success.  I hope they make it.  Tons of snacks, drinks, etc.  Breakfast included cookies, breakfast bars, smoothies.  Very nice.  In fact, aside from the seat size, I'd say it's better than domestic first class on any other airline.  The XM radio in the armrest is a nice touch.

no, that is not the real story.  I got the real story from a guy named John who rode with me back from XNA because COntinental canceled all of their flights.  John used to work for them.  What happened was ExpressJet used to be (still is) a contract carrier for Delta, Continental, and I think maybe even US Airways.  Last year Continental decided that they didn't need 50 or so of their planes.  The big wigs at ExpressJet decided that hell, if they are going to have 50 planes on the ground they might as well start their own company and keep them in the air instead of going bankrupt with them just sitting there.  The result is ExpressJet.  I think ExpressJet rocks.  And unlike a bunch of good ole boy swindlers like Great Plains, Xjet is run by airline industry veterans, so no shady back room deals with TUlsa holding the bag.

After my trip to San Diego with them, I can't recommend them enough.  BTW, if you are looking for a great labor day getaway, tickets to San Diego are CHEAP.  GO there, catch a Padre's game, see the San Diego Zoo, fly back at the end of the weekend.

The destinations they serve are pretty sweet.  Colorado Springs for insance.  Garden of the Gods if you like the outdoors.

This guy said that the flight to Austin isn't doing very well, which is ironic if you consider that people are always comparing Cain's to the Austin music scene.

There is a flight to Portland in the works.

I'll report back after my flight tomorrow, but the few flights I have been on have been EMPTY.  So empty that they made us move towards the back of the plane for better weight distribution!  I keep trying to get the word out, but i guess Tulsa-Austin isn't as popular as I thought.  It's also at least $20 cheaper than American or Southwest, which isn't much, but considering that it's a direct flight and the service is superior, it's definitely hard to beat.

I flew Express Jet to Albuquerque and back on the same day about two weeks ago and it was good, but could be better.

if you are single your chances of hooking up with a Expressjet attendant are good....they seem to be all about hooking up at the end of their day.

That's it, Inteller works for this airline and is paid to plug them.

hahaha...I wouldn't touch the airline industry with a 10 ft pole.  No I was actually told that expressjet has high turnover because they work their employees to death.
