I was having this conversation with another TulsaNow poster (face-to-face...can you believe it?) about what a good party the Wild Brew is every year. We both agreed that it is one of the must do parties every year in Tulsa.

What other events would you always want to make?

Here is the start of my list...

Wild Brew   -   25 restaurants, 80 flavors of beer, the mid-life crisis band and a who's who of local fun people.

Oktoberfest corporate night   -   Corporate drunks are just so much more fun than regular drunks.

Opening Day at the Drillers   -   Among the biggest crowds every year. The kids have a great time and when you add ice cream and cotton candy, they scream batter, batter, SWING.

Downtown Christmas parade   -   I really like that it is a nighttime parade of lights. We always get a few families together, huddle for warmth and drink hot chocolate.

Tulsa Run   -   I am not a runner (unless I am being chased) but we always have plenty of friends who enter and we love to cheer them on.

First day of school   -   As parents, we now think of this as holiday for us. After a long summer, this day is like the first day of spring.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Along with the Tulsa Run, you can include the Tulsa World Route 66 Marathon. This year will be the second annual race in Tulsa. Let's keep the marathon going strong and lets surpass OKC's marathon.

What's the difference you may ask?
Tulsa Run - 15km (9.3 miles)
Tulsa World Route 66 Marathon - 42.2 km (26.2 Miles)

I'm fond of our neighborhood block parties in October. The firemen come and hose down the kids, politicians come and behave like human beings, police drop by and relax and I usually drink too much beer and eat all the good desserts.

Tulsa Tough is doing great for such a young event.

It's responsible for more road repairs than our glorious leaders.

DFest definitely counts. I also like Tulsa Tough. They are two of the best new events in Tulsa.

Greek Fest--Dancers with bottles on their head, good food, decent wine, what could be better?

Kids' World--obviously, more for the kids, but always amazes me how much cultural diversity we have in this city.

Fourth of July at the Riverparks--it helps that I can walk there, but always a great display, and lots of entertainment.

Fifth Night/Utica Square--I haven't been able to go this year, but I have always enjoyed it.  I always run into people I know.

I have enjoyed the district parties the past two summer, though this year was a little warm....

Something I wish they would bring back:  Shakespeare at Woodward Park (or any park).

Oh man, you bet, Greek Fest.  I love it.

Wild Brew
Octoberfest
St. Pat's Day at McNellies
Waltz on the Wild Side

RecycleMichael

Good call on Waltz on the Wild Side.

The friends of the fairgrounds foundation has a party in mid-September that has a great meal, one of the best silent auctions and a who's who attendee list.

I also attend the night before Mayfest gallery opening party every year. It is a attended by most of the local visual arts crowd.

I think the OU/TU game at Skelly Stadium will be a great event this year.

Power is nothing till you use it.

Toys for Tots each year.  Good group of fellow motorcyclists meet.

RecycleMichael

Good catch, Rowdy.

I don't ride, but have plenty of friends who do. This sounds like fun and raises awareness for a good cause.

The Tulsa Packer Backers fan club raises money for Toys for Tots by having a tailgate party a couple of times a season where we sell bratwurst to each other and donate the cash.

We call it "Brats for Tots".

Oh, .... and add

St. John's Street Party

Or if you don't like kids, just call it Brats for Brats.
