KJRH says there have been more allegations made.

This is getting more Hollywood every day.

Oral Roberts University President Richard Roberts now faces more shocking allegations in a lawsuit filed against him. A second petition was filed today in district court that includes the university's Board of Regents as a defendant. Inside the petition is a scandal vulnerability assessment which contains a web of new allegations.

It claims Mrs. Roberts spent the night in the university's guest house with an underage male on 9 separate occasions.

It states there are 29 photos of Mrs. Roberts and the underage male alone in her sports car after city-wide curfew. The university's Board of Regents was added as a defendant in the lawsuit. It claims Roberts and the board gave a convicted sexual deviant unrestricted access to the students of the university as a "mentor."

It also says three days after the original lawsuit was filed, ORU and Roberts terminated ORU's financial comptroller. Then it states witnesses have reported that voluminous materials and documents were shredded and destroyed. It also quotes a taped phone call where Roberts was heard saying, "I have the deck stacked -- I am elected to three year terms and if a regent appears to give me trouble, I remove him. I stack the deck."

Channel 2 tried to contact Richard Roberts for a response to the new allegations. The reporter could not reach him.
Power is nothing till you use it.

The new allegations are not against Richard but against his wife who is slandered to the extent that she and a underage male was in the guess house on nine occasions which could be observed by 4,000 other students.

It claims the wife was hauling around an underage male, somewhere either on the campus or on the streets of Tulsa.  (I believe an underage can accompany an adult during all hours' day or night.)  Gather the stones and we will have a public stoning,

It claims Roberts and the board gave a convicted sexual deviant unrestricted access to the students of the university as a "mentor."   (Where do you pick the line that divides the book opinion and experience to educate of the wrong way?)

Nearly every business including churches has paper shredders.  Do we convict every one that has a shredder  and uses it to compact the office trash?

One thing is there but is missing.   It is the quilting bee where persons can sit around and gossip.

DT has always hated ORU because one person put it together when TU, an university privately owned by the Lords of the inter ring.

Most things are by design.  This story reads like Vince McMahon's script writers were involved 8 months ago constructing the entire story line.  Sounds like pre-cursor to another giant fund raiser for the ORU institution.

Who else from Tulsa has been reported with CNN, MSNBC, Today Show, Larry King?  The River Project and the Tulsa PGA just wish thay could of had this massive International coverage.

When will the book be out?  :)

I'm reminded of the 1957 movie "Peyton Place" and two songs, the 1968 hit song of Tom T. Hall's "Harper Valley PTA" and Billy Joel's 1989 "We Didn't Start the Fire"

Is this 1957 or 2007? :)

----------------------------------------------

"I want to tell you all a story 'bout a Harper Valley widowed wife
Who had a teenage daughter who attended Harper Valley Junior High
Well her daughter came home one afternoon and didn't even stop to play
She said, "Mom, I got a note here from the Harper Valley P.T.A."

The note said, "Mrs. Johnson, you're wearing your dresses way too high
It's reported you've been drinking and a-runnin' 'round with boys and going wild
And we don't believe you ought to be bringing up your little girl this way"
It was signed by the secretary, Harper Valley P.T.A.

Well, it happened that the P.T.A. was gonna meet that very afternoon
They were sure surprised when Mrs. Johnson wore her mini-skirt into the room
And as she walked up to the blackboard, I still recall the words she had to say
She said, "I'd like to address this meeting of the Harper Valley P.T.A."

Well, there's Bobby Taylor sittin' there and seven times he's asked me for a date
Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lot of ice whenever he's away
And Mr. Baker, can you tell us why your secretary had to leave this town?
And shouldn't widow Jones be told to keep her window shades all pulled completely down?

Well, Mr. Harper couldn't be here 'cause he stayed too long at Kelly's Bar again
And if you smell Shirley Thompson's breath, you'll find she's had a little nip of gin
Then you have the nerve to tell me you think that as a mother I'm not fit
Well, this is just a little Peyton Place and you're all Harper Valley hypocrites

No I wouldn't put you on because it really did, it happened just this way

The day my Mama socked it to the Harper Valley P.T.A.

The day my Mama socked it to the Harper Valley P.T.A."

I am sorry the story turned to sex.

I thought religion, politics, wrongful termination, fraud, and nepotism were enough.

Silly me.
Power is nothing till you use it.

TW reports; ".......the latter section are riddled with misspellings, lack of punctuation and are written with phrases that run together."

I just wanted it to be known that shadows did not compose the two amendments to the original petition before he is accused to doing so.

To the best of my knowledge, and a few labor attorneys I have posed the question to, in Oklahoma "At Will" employees find it hard to locate an attorney that is willing to file for wrongful termination on a contingency basis, as Oklahoma is an employment at will state.  May find an attorney that will take that type of case on retainer however.  I submit the majority of the high profile cases are a form of a "paid political campaign" of some sort as most individuals do not have the amount of free cash to fight such a case, especially while they are recently without income.

Now if there is a collective bargaining agreement, or the "at will" employee is terminated due to age discrimination, that is another story.

The other employment status categories are "Exempt" and "Non-Exempt" meaning having the power to hire and fire and not being subjected to overtime rules, but that is another area of employment labor law.

Anyone have links to other Oklahoma employment cases based on "wrongful termination" that do not involve age or collective bargaining agreement breach of contract.

As a general proposition, Oklahoma follows the "employment-at-will" doctrine. Id. at 1461. Under Oklahoma's iteration of that familiar rule, "an employment contract of indefinite duration may be terminated without cause at any time without incurring liability for breach of contract." Burk v. K-Mart Corp., 770 P.2d 24, 26 (Okla. 1989). "nder the classic statement of the at-will rule 'an employer may discharge an employee for good cause, for no cause or even for cause morally wrong, without being thereby guilty of legal wrong.'" Hayes v. Eateries, Inc., 905 P.2d 778, 781 (Okla. 1995) (quoting Burk, 770 P.2d at 26). The Oklahoma courts have carved out exceptions to the at-will principle, however, restricting the grounds on which an at-will employee may be terminated. See id. at 781-82. Thus, an implied or express contract that restricts an employer's power to terminate the employee can alter the employment relationship. See id. at 782; Black, 107 F.3d at 1461.

I'm glad that they are being exposed for the hypocrites that they are. There are too many in this town!

Someone makes an accusation and you label them guilty?  So if I call you a horse's rear does that make me right? Its people like you I hope never sit in a jury.

AMP - Isn't there some kind of whistleblowers protection law?  Came with the ENRON deal?  I would guess that is why.  That's my first guess.  Also, usually professors are tenured and have protection under that.

At will seems like a joke.  Even though OK has it, it sure seems like employers are afraid to fire employees.

Did you watch the Larry King interview? They never denied spending 800 dollars a month on a phone bill nor spending fifty grand on clothes.

And that makes anyone guilty?  Get over yourself. This whole scandal isn't near over yet. Let's get the judicial system to do its job before passing judgment.

All of the allegations might not be true but they live an extravagant lifestyle. Are two swimming pools really necessary?

So now it's more than one swimming pool?  Well then, let's lock them away and throw away the key on that one.  Heck, the next thing Ill here is they should be prosecuted for their pool being 1ft deeper than you think it should be.

Maybe they are guilty of something.  But let's wait this one out and find out instead of you passing judgement.

Now if those TWO swimming pools also each had their own "our river yes" sign. That would mean he wouldn't be non-biased. I don't know how this adds to the conversation, just had to throw it in.
