Emphasis, mine.

EL RENO, Okla. (AP) -- A 3-year-old girl who was sleeping inside a pickup truck when it was stolen from outside a casino in Concho and later found safe is now in state custody.

Alyssa Lopez was found in the truck after it was abandoned Monday morning on an Interstate 40 off ramp in eastern Oklahoma City.

Canadian County Sheriff Lewis Hawkins says the girl was placed in state custody during a hearing Tuesday morning in Canadian County District Court.

The child's grandfather has custody of her and told investigators he left her in the pickup when he went into the Lucky Star Casino about 2 a.m. Monday. The grandfather says he noticed the truck missing about 3:45, and an Amber Alert was issued just after 5:30.

Maybe not much of a trick, but it was dumb.

He went to a casino at 2 A.M.?

What a grandfather!  He should not be allowed anywhere near that child.

I can't tell if you're trying to be facetious, or just left a word or two out.

He left a 3 year old child in a car, maybe locked, in a parking lot, at a casino, at 2 AM.  Didn't even notice the car was missing, for nearly 2 hours.

But, you're right.  He should not be allowed near that child, or probably any child.

Ummm...my meaning was the same as yours, just shorter and sarcastic.  What didn't you get?

I once had a sure thing at the track and decided to bet the wife and kids.

I lost...and got two more wives and three more kids.
