I know it has been done before but it's been awhile.

Anywhere in Krebs

Wildhorse Mountain BBQ south of Sallisaw. They say it was better before it burnt and was rebuilt, but it's still good.

Bob's BBQ in Ada. haven't been there for many years, so don't know how good it is now.

Eischens Bar in Okarche. Best fried chicken around. Served on waxed paper with pickles, sliced onions, and white bread.

McGehees Catfish in Marietta. They raise their own catfish and serve family style. There is a grass airfield across the street many people fly  in from Dallas or OKC to eat, then fly back.

Meers Store in Meers Ok north and west of Lawton. Great longhorn burgers. Don't take plastic. They only accept cast.

Well, you named two I was thinking of Eischens and Meers.

Vann's Pig Stand in Shawnee is pretty good 'que.

You can get a sandwich to go and nothing outstanding as far as food, but as far as interesting operators and store, try the General Store in Kenton, right before you get to the NM/OK border in the Panhandle.

"Bob's Pig Shop" in Pauls Valley.  (featured on OETA a few years back during that Okie Noodling tournament http://www.okienoodling.com/ .  Bob's is HQ and weigh-in location for that tourney)

Ball's BBQ in McAlester.

I forgot Van's. Belongs on any list.

The store in Kenton was closed when i went through earlier this year. It is close to Black Mesa.

"Steer Inn", Cushing.  Crazy buffet, with frog legs.

That's a bummer.  They always had the sign out front that said "Free gas tomorrow".

Head Country BBQ is worth eating up in Ponca City.

Another good one is the smothered burger at Murphy's up in Bartlesville.  Burger and fries smothered in brown gravy is the house favorite.

That was one of the better OETA documentaries I've seen in some time.

Adam, you can make a full grown woman out of them.  If I could do that, I wouldn't have any ribs.

That was a pretty good show.  Gotta be crazy to noodle IMO, but to each their own.

Bob's Pig Shop is kind of an icon for the locals anyway, it's a bit hidden up in the neighborhoods.  The foods pretty good, and the atmosphere is, different, for lack of a better word.  Interestingly different.  A must see, at least once, IMO.

Don't get me started, that's so subjective you might hate what I recommend, but- since Papa Tom's in Bixby closed, Albert G's or Knotty Pine.  Van's were pretty good as well, but I haven't eaten there in almost three years.  Probably been 10 since I last ate at Ball's.

Rock Cafe in Stroud.

Clanton's Cafe in Vinita.

White Dog Hill a couple miles east of Clinton.

Lucille's in Mulhall.

Ditto for Van's. I also like its location in Norman.

I've heard the Chicken Fried Steak in Weleetka is the best (and largest) in the state, but I've only seen pictures.

This is my favorite Chinese Resturant just south of town.  I love the smoked Hot Dogs..

There used to be a place below Van's called the Charcoal Room, it was a steak place.  My hubby & I went there when in college and had a nice meal out, we were so impressed with the filet that we were tempted to order another one.  Not sure if it was because it was so fab or just that it was something other than Mac N Cheese and Ramen Noodles.

Is that still around, anyone been there?

Also, isn't there some Mexican place in Ponca City that's supposed to be the best, near the airport or something?  See, always going back to Mexican food.  [:D]
