the tulsa world needs to
a) implement a requirement for user registration with
b) a valid email address and
c) confirmation before posting on their stories...

that mess is just insane....
"It costs a fortune to look this trashy..."
"Don't believe in riches but you should see where I live..."

I wish they would just do away with user comments altogether.  It is nothing but a sounding board for lunatics.

Never heard of her, but I don't follow the top 40 Billboard Muzak Grocery Store music much.   Must not play her on KMOD or Z104.5.

I think the comments are interesting sometimes.  I like that feature.  No one is forced to read the comments.

An article memorializing a person's life...

Try comment #1...then see the retribution by several commenters.  And how about #49 followed up by more angry comments.  Is there really a reason for commentary on a topic like this??  I just want to go there and read the news, not for the opinions of hacks - that's what Tulsanow.org is for. [:)]

And I can't even get started with the articles on ORU or ANYTHING to do with Kathy Taylor.  It's simply too exhausting.  I know I just shouldn't read the comments, but I can't help myself.

it is the one and only place people can confront the blatant propaganda of TW.  It was critical during the river tax farce that was almost foisted on us.

And that makes TulsaNow what? [:D]

At lest we er al betar spellars then thouse peple on Tulsa Werld.

The spelling of some of those people in the comments makes you wonder how they even read the paper in the first place.

TheTed

Can they at least ban the morons who post "there's no parking" on every arena story?

Chicken Little

It's awful.  Hit-and-run posters with the same tired complaints about things they never wanted to understand in the first place.

booWorld

Reading the World online is optional.

Posting comments is optional.

swake

The comments are simply amazing. They are foul and display the worst in our community. It's like a bunch of retarded drunks holding a contest for who can be the most offensive and least informed. It's obvious that most don't even read what they are commenting on.

I still think that the comments should remain, but the World should require some sort of registration via e-mail so that the posters understand that what they post can be traced back. It might temper some of the most libelous and stupid comments.

Not that the comments can't be traced anyway, no one that posts those comments is clever enough to spoof their MAC and IP addresses, but they aren't bright enough to to even understand what a MAC address is.

I found #1's post kind of humorous. Did anybody post a disparaging comment about the size of her son's, "manhood"?
