I am probably the cheapest person you have ever met. I am generous with giving, especially during the holiday season, but will decide what I eat, drink or shop totally based on what is on sale or I have a coupon for.

Since Sonic started having half-priced drinks I have put off eating lunch till then. I love getting the $1.79 slushee for $1.25 (with tip). I order the "value-menu" at every drive-thru restaurant and will drink whatever beer is the nightly special at the bar. I buy the coupon books each year and almost never try out a new place with out a "buy one get one free" deal.

Last Sunday we had Subway sandwiches for lunch (Buy two footlongs, get one free...total price $13). I often get $1.99 chicken fried steak meals from KFC on Mondays and Sonic has half-priced burgers on Tuesday nights. My wife knows when Jason's Deli or Souper Salad has "kids eat free" nights. If the family wants to order pizza, I don't ask what toppings they want, I ask what coupons we have.

My wife doesn't allow me to grocery shop often because I plan all meals around the frozen food aisle sale items. I am sure the people in line behind me are annoyed when I peel off the coupons on the sides of packaging for the impulse purchase.

It is not just food. I go online almost every day to these sites:

http://www.slickdeals.net/,     http://www.couponcabin.com/,    http://www.anycoupons.com/index.html,

I have become obsessed with trying to find out what day things are on sale. I can't be the only one on this forum trying to save a buck. Please let me know if there are others out there and also share what deals they know of.

Sign up for Zio's, Tin Star, etc. online clubs...Zio's usually sends out a free appetizer (with entree purchase) once every few weeks.  Husband and I can usually order one entree, add the free appetizer and a kids meal (1.99, portions are very large, esp. spag and meatballs) and be stuffed for around $14.

Hungry Howie's 5.99 Mondays, and I think Umberto's has 7.99 Mon and Tues (2 topping!)
Mazzios p***** me off because they keep raising the prices on Monday, from $5 to $5.49 to $6 to 6.49 to now $6.59 [xx(]

I have gotten big time into cooking lately, so I have been putting that $$$ I was spending eating out into better ingredients...but I think it's just a phase I'm going through!

Sign up with Red Robin and they'll email you a coupon for a free burger on your birthday.

Q'doba sends email coupons a lot too.

Kids eat free at Senor Tequilla and the Brook on Tuesday nights

Dominos by my house has a $7.99 deal for any pizza, any price on certain days. Arbys at 71st and Memorial always puts stuff in my sack I didn't order which would be a good deal except they usually also leave some stuff I did order out...

fatwallet.com is another good deal site.

I think I have all the uranium I need...did you see that people who bought that product also bought different types of rodent traps? Weren't radioactive mice part of the TeenageMutant Ninja Turtles?

There were some decent grocery coupons in today's Tulsa World, but the most interesting ones were printed on the back of my Reasor's receipt. I am amazed that a business would advertise on the receipt from another business.

Here are some good coupons for Weber's Root Beer on Brookside...

You know those hotel discount books you see in gas stations on the interstate? They are great ways to save money, but remember that these are not luxury hotels...

Here they are online...

You may be cheap, but I bet I can give you a "run for your money."  I am "Mr. Thrift" too, and I chalk it up to the influence of my parents (children of the Great Depression.)  I always use coupons at the grocery, and on the once or twice a year occasion that I dine at a restaurant.  Unless the tab is on someone else, of course.

I love to cook, so I benefit from cooking at home.  I always buy foodstuffs in bulk, and freeze items when I encounter a good sale or have good coupons.  It is not hard to save money on food, but it takes dilligence, desire, and a realization of what you can have with the money you would otherwise waste on fast food and restaurants.  I thank my parents and upbringing for my sense of thrift and economy.

Not a big coupon user here,,,, ok, never used any actually. But the few times I have gone to the grocery store with coupon in hand I find the generic brand is cheaper than the brand name WITH the coupon. Spend more with the coupon, spend less buying generic? Plus, is it just me, but the coupons seem to always be for the more unhealthy products?

One thing I do like to do though is buy clothes "off season". Buy next spring and summers clothes when its 70% off in the fall, next winters clothes in the spring. As for shoes, spend a little extra and buy high quality, and they last forever. You know those black half boots you always see me wearing? If you have met me you know lol. I wear them most of the time especially in the fall and winter. Bought them bout 10 years ago. They are still perfectly fine....except for the small claw marks where the danged cat had at them lol, and should last till I croak.
"When you only have two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other."-Chinese proverb. "Arts a staple. Like bread or wine or a warm coat in winter. Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

That is often very true.  The thing I have found with buying generics or store brands is the quality is very inconsistent.  At least when you buy a bag of Fritos or a name brand, you always know what you are getting.  With generics, it is hit and miss.  I have found that the "Best Choice" store brand that many groceries in the Tulsa area sell is generally quite good, especially for canned goods or non-perishable staple items.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the larger package is not always the best buy.  Do a quick mental computation (or use a calculator) and you may find that the smaller size is the best price, on a per-unit basis.  And if you have a coupon, it makes the smaller size price even better.

free $25 stamps, free $25 Walmart , Lowes, or Home Depot Gift card.

Sound interesting?
Send email or PM to me for details because some of the offers are good through invitation. The cost to you is just a few minutes of your time.

You can call me to go through the steps.
thanks

This is your second account ampm0802 (dotsfire).

It is against forum rules to post under two different names.

Personal attack removed.  This was entirely unnecessary and in incredibly poor taste.
