It looks like the Freedom Mart people are going to open in the old Albertson's location.

We are getting closer to opening the doors of a community grocer for North Tulsa. I am excited to announce our first job fair December 28th
and 29th from 8-5 in the Rudisill Library Auditorum 1520 N. Hartford Tulsa, OK 74106. We plan to hire customer-focused individuals who can make your shopping experience one to remember.

Thank you very much and have a great holiday.

Great news.  When I'm in the vicinity on business, I will be sure to try and stop in to support the effort.  I tend to be a drop-in shopper anyhow.  I probably hit at least 10 to 12 different store locations around Tulsa throughout the year for my normal grocery shopping.

If they have great meat and produce, well I'll drive about anywhere for great meat and produce.

I am not allowed to do much of the shopping at my household, especially for groceries. My wife does it all right, using coupons, tracking the prices of all staples, and planning the shopping around meals for the week.

I just look for stuff that looks good. I saw free-range, all natural boneless chicken breasts at the store the other day and didn't pay attention that they were over four dollars a pound. When I got home, my wife showed me where the same chicken parts were under two dollars a pound at a different store.

We don't have a grocery store closer than two miles from our home, so I just try to stop at a grocery during my route home. This store is only about two miles from my office and because they are going to be locally owned, might be a good choice for me.

I agree with Conan...I will drive out of my way for great meat and produce. Let's hope these guys make a store worth driving to.

It's really true, Freedom isn't free! Now we have a store for it. I want to go stock up on freedom as soon as they open.

Well good. Glad to see a local group get together and do this.

I asked some development people about the group for what they know about them and it turns out they haven't even signed a lease yet.

I think it is odd that they would be having a job fair without even having a building.

I wonder what is going on?

That is odd, I hope its all good, but I forsee a "it's all Kathy Taylor's fault" if the store doesn't actually come to fruition.

Channel 8 did a story at 10pm that confirmed that the store location is still for sale. They interviewed a city official who said the potential new grocers were just checking out the labor pool.

Why would you have a job fair when there are no jobs? That doesn't seem very "fair" to the people coming out who need a job.

Stand in a line, fill out some paperwork and we will get back to you if we ever get our act together...

Meanwhile, it stalls any effort by the other possible grocer that showed interest. What happened to the one from St.Louis area?
