Are there any school districts that offer an all day pre-kindergarten class?  Which districts also have full day kindergarten?

All area schools now have full day kindergarten.  Within TPS, different schools have different offerings with respect to 4 year programs, though most are not all day, and some don't have any 4 year old program.  Lee school  offers all day, but you have to pay extra (they offer a half day program that is free).  Mayo offers all day 4 year old program, for free, but it is difficult to get into that school.  Jenks offers both 3 and 4 year old programs, but I am not sure of the length.  You use to have to pay extra in Jenks, but don't know if that is still the case.

Early Childhood Education

• Four-Year-Old Program
From infancy on, young children need opportunities to develop large and small muscle skills, help in learning to get along with other people and guidance in coping with their feelings.

A successful Four-Year-Old Program considers how young children learn. The following principles are used to create a curriculum and environment that is stimulating, relevant and responsive to each child:

• Young children learn most easily when the curriculum is developmentally appropriate.

• Young children learn most easily when they are actively involved in real experiences.

• Young children learn most easily through play.

We had our four year old in the Eisenhower program last year and were very, very pleased.
