saw on the news and read in the paper that we (Tulsa and Oklahoma counties) were once again denied federal help from FEMA.  What more do they want? My question...I am wanting to write a letter, who shall I address it to? the head of the agency? the agency in general?? any ideas?

We were denied direct-to-individual assistance. I think FEMA is a bit burned out on this kind of assistance because this is the type of assistance that results in debit cards used to pay for breast implants and loaner trailers that get trashed.

Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to come up with a reimbursement program for electric repairs and tree trimming if you provide a receipt. Would cut down on a lot of fraud and keep the dollar figures from going too high.

thats not my point.  I personally did not lose power during the storm (there are some pros to living next to a hospital).  I personally hauled off over 12 truckloads of limbs to the various dumpsites to help my parents out.  I do feel bad for the people who didnt have the money for a hotel, lost all their food, couldnt hire someone to clear their trees, etc etc.  I know my dad spent over 180 dollars in 2 days between fillig up his truck and the generator.  I see their point after what certain individuals did with their money after Katrina, but find a way to better disperse the funds.
