Giants or Patriots? Why?

Bunch of geeks and tree-huggers on here! No love for the Super Bowl?

If you've read any of my football posts, you know I really dislike the Patriots, so it's obvious who I want to win - but...

Patriots by 13.

Mid fourth quarter turnovers by the "other Manning" will do the Giants in. Lots of short passes by "I left my girlfriend for a supermodel and my ankle hurts but not really" Brady with two significant long TD passes.

Exactly one-third of the viewers will throw up in reaction to the broadcasters going on and on about the perfect season, wonderful Belichek, and how incredible Brady is. "Best-ever" will be my cue to hurl. I may hurl several times.

Another third of the viewership, incensed at the ineptitude of the Giants to score in the red zone, will beat their wives when they mention how hot Brady is.

The other third are just watching for the commercials... or cheerleaders.

Who will win? Why?

Pats will probably win.

if they win the superbowl they will be the best team ever.  Period.

put the 07 pats against the 72 dolphins, even the 70s Steelers teams or some Colts team of the 60s and it wouldn't even be a contest.

Do you think some slow cornerbacks & linebackers from the 60s or 70s  can cover Randy Moss / Wes Welker / Benjamin Watson?

Johnny Unitas vs Rodney Harrison?
That would be hilarious to see.

The game has changed.  Alot of people cannot deal w/ that fact (see the 72 dolphins) but it has.

This is the first year that I haven't watched a single NFL game.  Not one!  I guess I figured with the writers strike going on, none of the players would have any good lines for the camera.
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Pats will probably win.  I say they get it back in order and it is another classic super bowl non-game by the second half.

Pats win = perfect season, which is cool.  Also think Brady is amazing on the field and still has his head in reality.  So woopie.

But I'll kind cheer for NYG as the under dog.  Also because Bean Town has had enough sports success lately.

I really don't care about pro sports nor these two teams.  The commercials should be good.  Truthfully, I might not even watch it, just no enthusiasm.

HURL! At least for the Brady comment.

RM - where are you? I thought you were a "football god"?

I am...thanks for remembering...

I play in nine fantasy football leagues. I can tell you the average jersey number of the starting offense for any team in the league and can tell you who bunks with who on the road games.

If the Giants win, I will probably win the KFAQ football challenge. I am in 3rd place out of 600 locals (and 77th place out of more than 20,000 nationally).

I am cheering for the Giants. First prize locally is a trip to Cancun.
Power is nothing till you use it.

So, as a football god, are you sending your tropical shirts to the dry cleaners or do you think the Giants are unable to beat the Patriots?

Kudos by the way for a great showing in the football challenge.

RM, are you a football god or an NFL god?  I have little interest in the NFL but am nearly obsessed with college football (go TU!).  I know you follow college a little, but is your passion equally distributed or weighted pro?

Really, only the NFL.

My church is Our Lady of the NFL.

I can talk some college and high school football, but the NFL is king to me.

I picked the Giants.

I won the Tulsa football challenge on radio station KFAQ.

I can't wait to hear Chris Medlock say my name.

The last quarter was some seriously compelling football.

I know Eli's getting the glory, but a lot of credit deserves to go to the Giants' defense. They stuffed the run, battered Brady and kept the passing game short. In short, they made one of the best offenses in history look pretty mediocre.
