I need to help my daughter with a report.

She has to give an idea of how Oklahomans are feeling about Hillary and Obama.

Do you think Hillary will win in Oklahoma or Obama?

Personally speaking, I am voting for Hillary. It's a woman thing, what can I say[^]

Hill's way ahead in Oklahoma polling.

While I agree that Hillary will win here, I think Barack will do much better than expected.  Most of the people whom I know that were Edwards supporters have switched to Obama.

The status quo democrats, those that have need for belt way lobbying, are behind Hillary. She'll carry Oklahoma.

Obama.

Senator Clinton comes with too much baggage to be a viable candidate.  If any Democrat thinks John Kerry was a hard sell in '04, just try to sell Hillary & Co.

I think Hillary wins in Oklahoma for 3 main reasons.

#1 and foremost, Bill Clinton is very popular with Oklahoma Democrats

#2,  Barrack Obama is black. There are many rural or otherwise "hick" Oklahoman's who still harbor racist feelings.  They may be civil to African Americans, but they don't have to vote for one and there are not enough Black Oklahomans to counter it.

and #3, it would bother me.  And lords knows this state does whatever it can to bother me. [;)]

I just got an automated phone call from Bill Clinton asking me to vote for Hillary.

I was surprised. I thought he had lost my number.

Well I was surprised that Hillary won Oklahoma.  Seriously, most of my friends hate the Clintons so I thought for sure this was a representation of "the people" in Oklahoma.

I'm happy that Hillary won here, and either way, my vote is going for whichever wins in the end.

Time for change.

Well said Honeysuckle. The most important qualification for president is color and gender. Experience, reputation, integrity, those sorts of things, not so much. Make sure that gem gets into your daughter's school report.

i found it interesting (sad...) that Edwards came in 2nd in several Oklahoma counties.

You better start "getting it" then.... because the female will not beat the senior manic from Arizona in a head to head butting.

Obama did do better than expected here.  Last polls put him at 17%, and he got 31%--almost double.  Clinton got about what the polls predicted, which leads me to believe that the Edward's people moved to Obama, not Clinton.

Keep in mind that Obama did not campaign here--no mailers, phone calls, and only a few commercials (most of them national).  His strategy, before Edwards dropped out, was that he didn't want to split the anti-Clinton vote with Edwards, so he stayed out.
