Bakery Expanding To South Tulsa

Merritt says the new 101st and Riverside location also has a conference room.

If you're not the best baker or don't have time to create your own confections, not to worry.  A locally owned bakery is expanding once again.  Merritt's is opening a new location in South Tulsa.

They'll still have the cookies, cakes and pastries they've become famous for.

The owners say they're excited about tapping into a new market.

"Hopefully we have a lot of folks that come in from the Bixby, Jenks even Sapulpa area. It's been a corner of town that we haven't really had a presence in and wanted to get to for a long time," said owner Christian Merritt.

I didn't even know there was a shopping center there. I would guess that the area south of the turnpike gets a lot less traffic than north of it. I would've rather seen them at riverwalk or something not so generic.

They probably didn't want the teens and tweens clogging up the line for 1 sugar cookie at a time.  However, if they stayed open late and they were @ the Riverwalk, AWESOME!

I have a feeling they will do just fine where they put the new one in.

I'm quite fortunate to have their "original" (not the original location, but close to it) bakery about a two minute walk from my house.

Good people, good product.

I know, I should really drive down around that part of town more often.  I was on 81st yesterday and they have widened it between Harvard and Yale.  Nice job too.
