Bold Move: UTW Takes On Kitchell

Pick up a copy of this week's UTW.  Cover story is Steve Kitchell and it's not a highly complimentary piece.  It took some serious cajones to publish it, and it's about time for everyone to see what people around that industry have known for years about the way the clubs are run and general thuggery.

If I were the writer, editor, or publisher, I think I might wince a little every time I start my car from now on and I'd probably sprout eyes in the back of my head to keep from being randomly beat up.

I was impressed with the article, you are right, it took some umph to do it.  But from what I read, have seen, and heard, it's right on.  What an attorney, calling to threaten, as well as Kitchell.  That many things are said and written about you if there isn't some truth to it.

I don't know anyone who would be too sad if he never came up with another venue again!

I wouldn't be afraid of a two bit Soprano wannabe punk like Kitchell. That is easy to see because if he had real balls and organization he would beat down the north tulsa gangs that infiltrate his clubs so he prolong the profits.  But he would rather slither away and fire up a new club.

For true thuggery you have to reach further up the chain to Utica Place.

I doubt the story will affect him.

He can't legally be run out of town, as some have previously suggested, and there seems to be a never-ending stream of the young, dumb, and socially hungry loser crowd to fill his clubs up every weekend.

The only thing thats going to get rid of Kitchell  is another flood. Or perhaps the bird flu. Something apocalyptic to thin the herd that he feeds off of.

Its the sad truth, guys.

oh I dunno.  cross the wrong people in town and I could see some concrete slippers in his future.  but most of the real thuggery in this town doesn't dwell in the underbelly sewers his operations work in.

i thought it was funny the article said he wanted to pack up and go to vegas.  he wouldn't last a week in vegas.

The author noted that whenever there is a high-profile incident at one of these clubs, it's followed by a high-profile police response (photo op) where a police cadet (a couple of weeks short of his/her 21st birthday) goes around a bunch of unrelated establishments to see if they can trick them into being served.

That's just got to be salt in the wound for legitimate businesses.
