I am not a Walmart hater, you know this.

HOWEVER.  I needed a new hunting license as well as some provisions to go camping a few weekends past.  It is simplest to go to the Mart to get these things.  About 10am I headed that way.

IT WAS A DAMN ZOO!  Questionable people.  Way over crowded.  Things all disheveled.  Long waits at the service counter (for hunting license and ammo) and then rudeness when I get there.

Going down one crowded aisle I commented to one lady "traffic jam in here!"  To which she replied "Hell yeah, it da first of da month... wake up wake up, get yo check and come ohn." And she broke out dancing like a rap video.

Seriously.  That really happened.  Just like that.

The moral of the story is to avoid Walmart on the first of the month and weekends that immediately follow them.  Especially if the two collide.   I never thought of such things.

The horror.

well bud, sounds like you are going to the wrong wal-mart.  Don't go to wal-marts in the ****ty parts of town as they reflect their local clientele.

Location does not matter, the 81st and Lewis store is half a mile from Southern Hills and across the street from ORU. And it is one of the scummiest places I have ever visited in Tulsa.

The employees are rude, the store is dirty and over crowded and most of the customers look like they were bussed over from the state fair. It's awful, and hardly in a bad part of town. Hell, Whole Foods is supposed to be building a store right across the street.

TURobY

That pretty much sums up my experiences at Wal-Mart, regardless of what side of town I'm on...

+1

however, there are large, ghetto apartment complexes in that part of town, very close to that W*M.

You apparently have not gone to the Wal-Mart near where you live. It is really no different. Long waits in line, understaffed, and the worst deli counter.

You wouldn't be able to get a hunting license at Target. Is that why Target has class over Wal-mart, so the rednecks can't buy their huntin' stuff? [^]

mdunn

who cares if a walmart looks scummy, are you going to lick the floor,or rub your noses on the restroom toilet seat?Be thankful you live in a country where you have stores the size we do in america.Quit whining like spoiled babies!

hoodlum

i shop Target exclusively because of their commitment to bring well design well made products to the average consumer. Anyone that promotes design and the arts is good by me.

I go to Bass sports for my fishing liscense.  Much better customer service, in fact real customer service compared to Wallyworld.

We shop at target because of the impression of cleanliness and their class.

oh, you mean like the long haired cashier with multiple piercings wearing an untucked brown stained t-shirt and a red hoodie (I guess wearing anything red qualifies as a target uniform)?  Yeah target shows real class [}:)]

oh and bub, if you are going to a big box discount chain based on image (yours and theirs), you sorely need a wakeup call.

My and aren't we opinionated today. I don't tell you where to shop so don't tell me please.

uh bull****.  The 111th/Mem walmart is nothing like the ghetto 81st walmart you discuss.  81st st walmart is near a trailer park and ghetto apartments....don't sugar coat it with the SH Marriott.  The majority of that area between 81st/71st is low rent apartments and cheap housing.  THAT'S why the 81st Walmart is ghetto.

I wouldn't step foot in that wal-mart.  But then again I wouldn't go into the Targut at 21st/Yale either.

the target at 21st and yale is like any other in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas or California.

but then again if you determine where you shop based on the clothing, hair and personal styles of those who work there then your not basing your choice on the store you are basing your chocie on your own bigotry.

hmm...are you the slob punk that checked me out at target last weekend?  you sure sound like it.

part of the reason the country is going down the toilet is the lax enforcement of uniform and appearance standards.  I think target contributes to this more than wal-mart.  at least wal-mart makes its cashiers wear a smock.
