Ditto on the pilser requests.

I was back in southwest Illinois over the weekend, and converted an upstate New Yorker to the local Stag beer, much to my surprise. I guess my taste in suds are better than I thought.

But the experience does cause me to echo bruno's sentiment that Marshall should make a  basic, refreshing, working-class beer. I love the local product, but I think we need a brew that the crowd at the It'll Do Tavern will like. You know ... the type of tavern that has two Hanks in the jukebox. The type of folks who remember when Falstaff ruled the roost.

+1 or 3 or 4 or whatever it's up to on the pilsner.

I love the MPA and wheat.  I've never developed a real taste for IPA, but got to give them their props on that one, though it's not a variety I commonly order.

My point is to sell a local beer, you need to tell people it's a local beer.  A bad slogan is a bad slogan, whatever the reason.  As for gimmicky, aren't most slogans "gimmicky"?  Isn't that kind of the point?

I'm proud to announce that Joe Momma's will carry Marshall beers on tap at our new downtown location.

Construction is coming right along, so get ready to come drink it up at Joe Momma's.

Had the opportunity to meet Eric, by the way. He showed me his place and educated me up on the process of making beer.

If you can get over there for a tour, you should.

Great beer and great comments about locals carrying the kegs. There's no excuse for not supporting the local brewery.

Your finger is truly on the pulse, my friend. Who do you know? I don't know that we're doing the label, but rather the logo of Marshall by itself. Though the sunset wheat has an awesome label and would be really cool. We're doing two murals inside our quasi-outdoor front patio and another big mural on the side of the building viewable from 1st street.

I've called LDF and am pretty sure they're in to pay for the thing as long as we're pimping their beers with our murals.

Nice.

Should be started soon on those, so come by and check it out.

if the brewery were called the tulsa brewing company, i'd take no issue... but is not...

i never said i refuse to drink anything... cause i dont refuse a beer, ever... i have purchased, drank and even made lots of beer... all types and all makes... its kind of one my things.

it is hard enough to market a beer but if you are trying to market a beer and a town, that many people consider podunk, it would be that much more difficult...

i think the marshall gang may be going for something with an appeal that will hopefully be more than just local...

having been in kc when boulevard came on line, and i spent many hours of my youth in the tasting room and on the brewery floor, i can tell you the word about a good local beer seemed to get around just fine...

I tried Boulevard the first time at a wedding reception in KC back in '90, I think.  Couldn't get it anywhere in Tulsa at the time.  I stuffed the trunk with as much Boulevard as I could fit for the trip home.  I was real popular with my friends for a month or so after that.

I've drank my fair share of micros over the years and MBC is off to a great start as far as his craft, I just hope they can get it marketed on a state and regional level fairly quick.

Glad to see so much enthusiasm for our local guy and his beer in spite of a few pr!ck bar owners who just haven't "gotten it" yet.

Any word on when it will be available in bottles?  Who will be carrying it?

MarshallBrewing

A few more weeks and we should start bottling!  I am waiting on my labels at the moment.

Eric

RecycleMichael

If that is the only reason we are waiting, I'll buy you some name tags.

I could run down to Office Depot and be back real quick. You could call the beer "welcome" or "Hello, my name is".

Power is nothing till you use it.

Can't wait.  Do you have any idea if Parkhill Liquor will carry it?

Have 8 year old, will make him color if it comes to that. Let me know.

The McNellies Pub Ale is really good. I love that style of beer. Haven't tried the others yet, guess I'll just have to go back...can't wait for Marshalls to be in bottles.

carltonplace

I want a sundown right now. Kudos on the beer; I've entertained several visitors to Tulsa lately and they were very impressed after I talked them into and they tried the Marshalls.

I don't see why they wouldn't. But, I'm almost positive Ranch Acres will have it.

According to another website, Marshall Brewing's 4th core beer has been brewed - Old Pavilion Pils. Probably available sometime in September.
