I'm looking for a friendly Tulsa bank with easy online access and lots of free ATMs. Recommendations?  How is BOK?  The arena looks nice.   [;)]

I use BOk for my personal finances and they have done very well for me.  Their free checking has a good online interface, they have many locations, and I've never had a problem finding an ATM around town nor paid any fees on my checking account.

My check card was stolen by some SOB in France last month, and they handled everything with no problems.  Which is what they are supposed to do, but it doesn't always work out that way.  They had my funds back within 2 days of the charge processing and then had me take care of the paper work.

I also have my Mortgage with BOk and got a fair rate and personal service.  I intend to fund a rent house with them in the near future.

In addition to that, a small business I am a partner in uses BOk and we have not had any problems.

So I would not hesitate to recommend BOk.  As with any bank beware the small things - like fees for ordering checks (get them online) or exchange rates (better elsewhere).  But in general, a good choice.

Don't forget also, BOk is the parent company of Bank of Albuquerque, ... Arkansas, ...  Kansas City, ...  Texas,  and Colorado State Bank and Trust.

+1 for BOk.

Do NOT use Bank of America.

They don't have tons of ATMs, but I'd still recommend going local with SpiritBank. They're very philanthropic and still operate like a neighborhood bank (i.e. the tellers are genuinely engaged and remember you). Their online banking has all the standard options.

my fiancee uses BOK and they have been great.  My parents have had them for years and never had any problems either.  The ATM's inside QT are by  BOK so there is no charge to use their ATM's. They also have locations inside Food Pyramids for your convienece.

I personally use IBC bank, which is based out of El Paso Texas I believe.  They are very friendly and I once had a mishap with someone fradulently taking out funds of my account, and incurring overdraft charges, they took them all off within days and replenished the funds I originally had.  Also they have a few locations open on sundays 1pm-5pm.  They have a good free checking account with online banking etc.  I find the online service for IBC much better of BOK.

If you are looking for convenient hours, Arvest is open 8am-8pm and also have locations open on Sundays 1pm-5pm.

And like the guy above said, STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA.  They are crooks.

I am just one person, but I have used three different banks in the last 10 years, and Bank of America has treated me the best BY FAR. I have had them the entire decade and dropped the others. I absolutely love their online banking interface.  Very advanced.  They have also been great in customer service.  I never sit on hold very long and they are always extremely courteous at the window and on the phone.

Just my experience.

I've done my banking with BOk since I moved here a little over 2 years ago and I'm very happy with them.

BOK and Chase, Im not sure how many atms chase has, but they have a few branches around town that are convenient for me. The interest rate isnt that good at either of those places though unless you have a pretty hefty sum.

Happy user of TTCU (Tulsa Teachers Credit Union) here for all personal banking use BOK for all of my business banking.

Happy with both, most of the staff at the TTCU's seem nicer over all (not that BOK people aren't nice.)

BTW: Last time I checked QT doesn't change for any ATM transactions, I know TTCU charges a flat 50 cent fee for non  TTCU ATM's and at QT I never pay anything more then TTCU's fee and harder ever get changed said 50 cent fee.
Thank you,

Use BOk.  They're the best!

Absolutely do not use Bank of America.  They screwed me over on an IRA and would never once reply to my mail.

I got a mayonaisse jar in an undisclosed garden spot and a paypal account. For everything else, I barter.

I will trade tomatoes and chickens with anybody.

I am glad someone has had a pleasant experience with them.  My fiancee had banked with them for over 5 yrs without ever having an overdraft charge.  The one day she did have an overdraft charge,(just one) they refused to take it off.  Now I know it was her fault for overdrafting on her account, but a loyal customer for 5yrs and this is how they respond?  I went to make a deposit for her one day at the local branch and they asked to see my ID.  They told me they couldn't make the deposit into the account because my name wasn't on the account? Why in the hell would it matter if my name was on the account if I am making a deposit for her in her name with a check she had signed?

I had a credit card with them for several years, kept a few hundred dollar balance on it at 2.99 percent.  I was out of town on business for a week and forgot to make the payment, I was 1 day late, they charged me 38 dollar late fee, raised my interest rate to 19.79%. I promptly paid it off the next day, and told them I would never do business with them again.  We closed her checking account with them and went with BOK.

In my eyes, Bank Of America is not in it for the little guys (personal accounts) but more for the corporate accounts.

I've heard the exact same story, but with the banks swapped. Honestly, they all of the banks are the same, and the experience will vary greatly between different banking centers.
