Is it just at my house, or have others seen more flu (viral and bacterial) between fall and spring?

I am down once again with one that really hit hard.  Two trips to the ER with breathing problems and dehydration.  First time they said it was viral (fever of 103 for more than 4 days) so no antibiotics.  My fever climbed and I became delirious and dehydration set in.  Finally by Sunday I could barely breathe and the diagnosis was complications from whatever started a week ago (bronchitis, sinusitis) so finally some damn antibiotics.

Still, it's so weird how my entire family has had one virus after the other this past cold/flu season.  Tell me it's not just us.

I think it was one long virus as most my friends could not knock it down with antibiotics. Actually, most had been on antbiotics as kids which makes me think there is a bad trend developing in which many will get sick from their immune systems breaking down to strains of virus developed from over use of antibiotics.

I refused to take antibiotics this time. The virus lasted 4 weeks and went through several stages. Sleep was the best remedy.

would explain why I seldomly get sick, and when I do, I get better pretty quickly.  Was never on antibiotics as a kid, and only a couple of times as an adult.

As your on-line doctor...

I recommend preservatives. If you analyze what they do to meat, then add that our bodies are really just meat and bones, then you can see that "pickling our innards" will keep you healthy.

No flu bug can make it through a defense of frozen pizza, hot dogs, and chinese restaurants.

Eat a convenience store sandwich and call me in the morning.
Power is nothing till you use it.

You really have big issues moneyburner...another hit and run accident. [xx(]

I will say it again, I knew it was a virus because some of my friends tried antibiotics which would not work on their sickness. There. Better? [}:)]

You all are right.  The antibiotics didn't do any good, so I suffered endlessly until this morning when I got up feeling slightly better.

I cannot remember when last something hit me this badly.  My tonsils were swollen so I've been eating cold things to help that, and of course the sinus headaches, the bronchitis and general aches have left me a shallow shell of my previous life.  To think I spend so much time exercising, eating right (no JUNK FOOD), and buy everything organic and I still get hit like this?

Damn! I am going to start eating right...preservatives and junk food all the bloody way!![:(!]
