Tried the T-Town Trolley yet?

Anyone rode this thing yet?  I attempted to a few weeks back and by the time I got out of the Empire to get on it had already pulled away...I guess you have to be "waiting" at the curb to get on?  I guess that makes sense if they are trying to cram 7 stops in 30 minutes...any idea what time they hit each stop (i.e. approx minute on the hour?)

Anyway, I was thinking it would be cool to have dinner on Brookside or Cherry St. and catch this to get downtown for the free concerts in the Blue Dome (to give it a try) but wanted to hear others experiences.  Good or bad experiences shared would be appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't ridden it yet b/c I'm not much of a late-night bar hopper. (Let me know if they start running a Happy-Hour Express and I'm there!)

Several people have asked me where they can jump off the trolley and grab a taxi to get home.  Rumor is that there are designated "taxi stands" (for those who have enjoyed the drinking without the driving) where you can grab a taxi without having to call ahead.

Anybody have any info about the taxi part of the equation?  Or do you just have to call a taxi company and have one dispatched?

There are cabs lined up on Brookside on the weekends.  You can actually hail a cab on Peoria between 33rd and 36th.  Cherry Street is a possibility but don't count on it.

Downtown, not so much.  Very disappointing last time I was in town--I couldn't even get one dispatched to McNellie's.  There are almost none running down there.

T Town Band Wagon has a better ring to it.....
I'm just not into boozers and cruisers. But it is novel for Tulsa.

Was going to try it the other night but by the time we knew it was there off it was going. By nice if a place gave a lil bell sound or something to let you know it was there.

When I want a cab downtown I usually just walk over to the bus depot on Cincinnati. There's usually a cab or two waiting there.

If you call a cab, they say it'll be there soon, which means somewhere between 1 and 240 minutes.

I haven't, but this one of the better ideas to come along in the past few years.

Anything to deter drunk driving while advocating getting out on the town seems like a win-win situation to me.

I gave it a run this weekend from downtown back up to cherry st, which is close to home so I did not need a cab.  I did not notice any cabs lingering, but I guess if I would have asked the driver when he picked me up he would have called one for me.  Still not a trolley though (T Town Party Bus or something).  I would prefer to see the trolley, but I am not going to gripe about a free ride around town.  All in all is was quick and convenient, but you better be ready to hop on cause they don't wait around at stops for more than a few seconds.

One problem I haven't seen addressed:

If I want to ride from downtown to brookside to eat dinner, do I have to go into McNellie's and buy a beer so I can get a token to get to brookside?

I know I should be hoarding these things for such situations. But I keep forgetting to ask for them when I'm at downtown bars/restaurants.

No tokens were necessary when I boarded...I did put a buck in the tip jar though...

Finally rode it last night.

Yep, best thing since sliced bread.

I was sitting outside at Sonoma last night and noticed the trolley going to Crow Creek Tavern several times during the time we shared a pizza (excellent) and some desserts (boring).  I did notice that a few people were getting off each time.

My group of three hitched a ride from in front of the Mercury Lounge in McNellie's on Thursday night...we were the only ones on.

2 blocks from my house is a trolley stop, this will be one hell of a summer!

Yeah, I am walking distance to the Empire stop...needless to say I will use this every time I go out on a Thur/Fri/Sat night after 9 pm.  Has it switched over to an actual trolley yet, or still the "party bus"?
