Now that Mautino and Medlock were found to be correct on a great many things concerning the City, I wonder if Mautino is considering another run...

Like what?

DowntownNow is likely talking about his issues with Public Works. Though, I wouldn't act as if Mautino was the only one who brought it up as an issue, as I've heard several people discuss it for years.

Tay is not stupid. He is very smart to form an alliance with a city counilor like Gomez who shares his beliefs. Besides if Gomez has someone like John Sullivan raising money for him again like he did after the last election, that is another plus for Tay.

I wonder what the common tie is that binds Gomez, Sullivan, and Tay? Maybe it's the fact that they all have arrest records and corresponding criminal convictions? Although, I don't think any of Tay's have been alcohol related.

So here's the current lists of candidates running for Mayor (as of Wed 7/15 morning):

Democrats:
Tom Adelson
Accountability Burnes
Prophet Kelly Clark
Robert Gwin Jr.
Paul Tay

Republicans:
Dewey Bartlett Jr
Kevin Boggs
Anna Falling
Chris Medlock
David O'Conner
Paul Raoales
Norris Streetman
John Porter Todd
Michael Tomes Sr.

The Democrats have a state senator and several guys whose primary job seems to be running for mayor every few years.

The Republicans have an oil exec, an occasional right-wing blogger, a co-founder of a Christian non-profit, a truck driver, a Fed Ex guy, a petroleum geologist and a realtor, among others.

So far, it looks like the Republican primary will be much more fun than the Democratic one.  I'm intrigued by what happens when you split the right-wing / religious vote.

Bartlett Jr will, of course, have support from corporate big-wigs and the most recognizable name.  Falling has Christian street cred for running a faith-based community organization.  Medlock seems to be against most things...Not sure what he's for, but a lot of people seem to like it.

Still have my fingers crossed that some additional (viable) candidates will file for City Council.

There's 5 minutes left.  Anyone?  Anyone?

Filing's over.  Looks like Henderson & Eagleton won their districts.

District 4 is always the most interesting (and one of the few in which your party doesn't determine the outcome).  Looks like, in addition to Maria, Gomez, & Rocky, Liz Wright decided to run.

Double A

Liz Wright is in? Awesome. I really like Liz. That's a game changer for me. I think Maria just lost a vote.
