No good choice, but someone stated that no matter who is elected, it's not the end of the world. No, but if Obama is elected, it is the end of the United States of America, as our founding fathers envisioned it. Considering our place in the world, I HATE him for what he will do. Hate is a strong word. I haven't used it for a living individual IN MY LIFE.

Recessions come in cycles, and DIIIIMS use them to destroy the founding principals that got us here in the first place. I DO MEAN DIM. I'm no fan of today's Democrat party, but I am also no fan of today's Republican party.  The process however is sound.

Republicans had enough time to produce an astounding economic boom, and to fix the problems that have now landed in our laps, but they could not.  Now, in the wake of their decisions they bred (with disregard) a new generation of venomous opponents who simply want change for the sake of change.  

Can you really blame them?  

We learn from our history, but we do not remember what we learned.  

It seems that the people are speaking and they want their government to be their keeper, their provider, and their master.  They don't do this knowingly, they simply love the rhythm of the drums being played, and cheer for their team to win.

I don't know if Obama will produce all of the social programs and limits on freedom he has proposed.  Perhaps much of it was just campaign noise, but if elected, with a sympathetic legislature, he will have the power of a dictator.  I hope that the people are wise, and have chosen a benevolent Premier.

No one voted for Socialism today (imo). They all voted for a change in attitude, behavior, and a break from having Bushes and Clintons steer the ship. There was some protest by both candidates' supporters against unfettered neo-conservatism but even that isn't as well understood as strongly felt.

My point exactly.  They voted for a change "from" something rather than a change "to" something.

They really don't care what the change is, as long as it's "change."
